Dispelling some of the myths about the damage to our environment from agriculture. Are important species such as bees under serious threat? Can oysters save the world? Which species really threaten our children’s futures?
31st MAY 7.30pm – NICK ROBERTS – THE BUTTERFLIES OF LONG BUCKBY- Survival & Protection
Butterflies are in trouble. They are rapidly disappearing from our countryside. Come and learn about our butterflies and what we can do to help them.
17th MAY 7.30pm – MARK JELLEY – FOOD & ENERGY – Securing Our Future Requirements
Mark will talk about the changing role of a village farm and whether we’ve forgotten the value of local production. We’ll ask what a farm in Long Buckby should be producing, how should it be producing it and can the increasing demands for energy, biodiversity, carbon capture and urbanisation all sit alongside our need for food?
