Refreshments Lead Volunteer Needed
Do you have experience in catering? And would you like to get involved in a local community organisation?
Buckby Library & Hub needs someone to lead on restarting our light refreshments for visitors. We hope to be able to begin again in the rear garden from mid-April and inside again from mid-May.
Gloves Donation for Buckby Angels
Northamptonshire Community Foundation annually run their Winter Well-being Appeal to raise monies to be awarded to local community groups whose activities protect and help local older and vulnerable people in supported environments over the Winter months. They ask for people who receive the winter fuel payment, and can afford to do so, to think about giving some or all of their winter fuel allowance, or a donation to the Winter Well-being appeal to support those who are less fortunate to stay warm, safe and healthy over the winter. This year, with many more older and vulnerable people being isolated due to the pandemic, one of their donors suggested asking for donations of fingerless knitted gloves.

Long Buckby and Covid-19
Long Buckby is hugely proud of our response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have come together as we always knew we would, united in helping everyone through these challenging times: individuals, families and businesses.
What’s Happening
Sadly, we are still not able to reopen. However, we are not standing still!
We have been revamping the kitchen with the help of some donations in kind and the dedicated work of volunteers. We are developing plans to improve all of our garden areas over the next 12-15 months, to create safe and inclusive spaces for relaxation with others. We continue to fundraise and we have had some recent application successes, please see our Grants page. And in the meantime the Library borrow a book trolley can still be found outside No 9 High Street during fine weather.
Library Reopening News
Following recent government guidelines we have been advised that Northamptonshire Country Council are reopening libraries across the county in a phased operation, please see their message below. Unfortunately Long Buckby will not be in the early wave of openings.
